Mikel Arteta feels assured that his team can persist in handling with player absences after revealing that star striker Kai Havertz is not ready for a few more weeks.

Extended Absence for German Star

The German forward has been absent for months due to an operation on his knee. Originally slated to come back sooner, Arteta revealed the player encountered a problem when stepping up his recovery and was unable to move forward “the required stage.”

“We took lessons, and managed to assemble a squad that is far more dependable and has greater depth,” stated the manager.

Selection Dilemma for Brentford Clash

This update presents a selection headache for the midweek match against Brentford. A decision is required between sticking with Mikel Merino, who got a goal as a makeshift striker on Sunday, or bringing back Viktor Gyökeres, who made a return off the bench off the bench. Veteran striker Gabriel Jesus is also an option post-recovery.

Fitness Doubts Linger

Speaking about the delay highlighted by national team coach Julian Nagelsmann, the manager gave further detail. “He followed all protocols. He failed to advance to the required step and now the signs are like we have solved that issue.”

The manager conveyed his eagerness to have him back. “Everyone is eager to have him. I mean, he is a footballer who, in my view, I value highly for his contributions to the team, but his personality, his personality. I observe his frustration on the sidelines.”
