Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, however will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's new album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was previously Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
