How these Broncos together with their malleable quarterback could end that Kansas City Chiefs' rule.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage includes text commentary of the weekend matchups via various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).
It's week six in the NFL season , following last week's discussion regarding two top teams being possible championship contenders, each lost their unbeaten records.
Striking during those contests were the number of infractions both conceded. Philadelphia committed them in key moments meaning they kind of defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the final quarter against Denver, who play in London this weekend.
However it proved good to observe that Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have that deficit before lead three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the victory 21-17.
Denver have the top defender with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are first in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that contest.
They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't always rushing more than four pass rushers instead they might plug two linebackers in the interior then withdrawing them and dispatch a nickel from the outside.
Early on in the campaign, we said during a show that Denver could be this season's surprise contenders. They ended last season strongly then did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?
New tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly while new running back their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks fifth league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).
I love that head coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.
This demonstrates how Denver are a squad that wants to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush and keeps you in favourable down and distances.
It's also helped QB the young passer, who came into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).
Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.
His strengths include his mobility, the capacity to pass while moving, and finding different arm angles to deliver the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can deliver precision throws over the middle and over the corner.
For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got great poise in the pocket and is not bothered by the blitz. He tries to avoid being tackled as much as possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and is very decisive.
If you consistently rush it consumes the clock and makes the defence to be in play extended periods, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defense must cover the field downfield and horizontally. This proves exhausting.
The quarterback has bitten back with the coach on the sideline at times and I think Payton likes that attitude, that he's such a competitor. I think it's exciting for him to have a young quarterback who's kind of like play-dough. The coach can really build something up the way he desires to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.
Payton owns a championship and now passed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing offensively is largely down to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with Nix aids make him what he is.
There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you through difficult moments and build self-belief.
I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team good enough to go against an elite team at its best? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.
Right now, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're working better than most, that's a solid position to be in the AFC West. The key to do to continue this trajectory.
They excel at leaning into their forte, which is the ground game, and this is precisely what they should do against the Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.
New York have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team yet to win any game.
Since the league started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers through five games, which is surprising when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City are off to a poor start after a recent loss by the Jaguars.
After this Sunday's game, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
In the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge at leading the division.
This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
