Judge Fatally Shot in Courthouse Shooting in the Balkan Nation
A defendant facing charges opened fire in a courtroom in the capital city of Albania, Tiranë, on the start of the week, killing the judge and wounding two additional individuals, as stated by law enforcement.
The suspect escaped from the location but was later arrested.
Particulars of the Tragic Incident
The court official the presiding judge was shot within the court chambers by a 30-year-old suspect with the identifying letters E. Sh., as reported by authorities.
Kalaja succumbed to injuries while during transport for treatment.
Other Victims
The gunman also opened fire on two other people present at the court proceedings, police said.
Their wounds were not critical.
Investigation Underway
Authorities have yet to disclose information about the possible reason or the nature of the case being heard.

Law enforcement subsequently detained the suspect and also seized a handgun believed to be the weapon used.
