Mario's Galactic Adventure Trailer Is Here, Revealing Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voices
Nintendo alongside Illumination unveiled the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. This occurred during a Nintendo-focused broadcast that focused exclusively on the soon-to-release cartoon movie.
The sequel to the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this latest chapter will transport Mario to the outer limits of the universe. Along the way, he discovers a different royal figure and a formidable new rival in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.
A Space-Faring Quest Inspired by Beloved Titles
Much like the Wii console classics that act as its source material, Mario will venture away from the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. During his grand adventure, he will reunite with some familiar faces, such as the Luma, a popular character from the original cinematic release.
However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's irate young son, who apparently wields metal-based powers. Interestingly, the preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not exclusively centered on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also features references to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Star-Studded Voice Cast Come Back and Grow
The film will feature once again of the initial voice actors, featuring Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Joining the cast for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to embody Bowser Jr. It was announced by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.
Mario's Major Moment
The upcoming Mario film is set to release around the time of the 40th anniversary of the first Super Mario Bros. title. Apart from the cinematic release, 2026 looks set to be a important time for Mario and his friends.
Nintendo confirmed a set of three fresh titles publicly declared for 2026, including Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a fresh Yoshi side-scroller titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is planned for launch on April 3, 2026.
