The children's author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.
Prolific young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.
An official for the firm commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an review of allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards young women.
The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."
A Prolific Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.
Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles in total, which features a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.
From Screen to Page
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
